Focusing On The Future

At Open Door, we are passionate about making a difference. We are looking to the future with plans to:

• Reduce our carbon footprint by assessing the technologies and materials used to build our properties.
• Support initiatives that will assist in offsetting Open Doors carbon footprint, such as tree planting and peatland restoration in the U.K.
• Look at the use of carbon credits meaning we can offset our carbon footprint. For example, if Open Door had a carbon footprint of 200 tonnes and bought 200 tonnes of carbon credits, we would be carbon neutral and could reinvest into green initiatives
• Adopt alternative heat sources which come away from traditional gasforms of heating. We were early adopters of a Biomass heating system at a Private Rental Sale scheme in Rotherham. We are looking to implement systems that reduce or eradicate the need for gas across the property portfolio playing our part in the fight against Climate Change.
• Resettlement of armed forces personnel by providing options of housing within our portfolio (whether this is private rental, Shared Ownership, rent to buy or outright sale).
